Macro Key Presser for Windows — Auto Keypress

Auto Keypress is a small, portable Windows tool that repeatedly presses or holds any keyboard key at the interval you choose, controlled by a single global hotkey. Perfect for AFK farming, idle games, long test loops, and keeping your PC awake while you step away.

What It Does

You pick a key, set the speed (from 5 milliseconds to 10 minutes between presses), and toggle it on with a hotkey—usually F6. The app sends real keyboard input through Windows, so it works in games, remote desktops, and full-screen apps where older tools fall silent.

The rhythm is steady and predictable. No stuttering, no dropped inputs, no background processes left running after you close the window. Hit the hotkey once to start, hit it again to stop. That's the whole interface.

Real Scenarios

**AFK farming in idle games:** Set the key to spacebar or click, interval to 500–2000 ms, and your character stays active while you're away. The session counter shows how many presses have fired.

**Keeping the PC awake during downloads:** Use a 1-minute interval on a harmless key like Insert. No distraction, no accidental input on active windows because you control the hotkey.

**Long UI test loops:** Testers often need to press a button dozens of times in sequence. Set it once, let the app handle the rhythm, and watch the counter climb to your target number.

**Remote sessions:** Works reliably over RDP and similar connections because it sends hardware-level scan codes, not simulated input that remote software might discard.

How to Set It Up

  1. Download and unzip Get the portable build from autokeypress.com. No installer, no admin prompt needed—just unzip to Documents, Desktop, or a USB stick and run it.
  2. Click Set Key Open the app and click the **Set Key** button, then press the key you want repeated. Any letter, digit, Space, Enter, arrow, function key, or numeric pad key works.
  3. Enter the interval Type the number of milliseconds between presses (5 ms for rapid taps, 60000 ms for once-per-minute beats). Or tick **Hold key down** to keep the key pressed continuously instead.
  4. Start with F6 Click **Start** in the app, or press **F6** from any other window—including minimized or full-screen games. Press F6 again to stop. You can rebind the hotkey to F1–F12 if needed.

Features Built In

**Tap or Hold:** Fire repeated key presses for games, or hold a key down continuously if that's what the task needs.

**Jitter option:** Add a small random offset (±) to each interval so your pattern doesn't read like a perfect metronome. Useful for avoiding detection in some situations.

**Any key:** Not limited to letters—works with Space, Enter, function keys, numeric pad, arrows, everything.

**Global hotkey from anywhere:** Starts and stops even if the app window is behind a full-screen game or minimized. F6 by default, rebindable to F1–F12.

**Dark, minimal UI:** One window, no tabs, no settings tree. Everything visible at a glance.

Questions

Is it actually free?

Yes. Free forever, MIT licensed, no trial mode, no Pro tier, no locked features.

Does it need an account or internet?

No. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to log into. The app never touches the network.

Will it work in my game?

It sends real keyboard input, so it works in single-player games and idle titles. Online games with kernel-level anti-cheat may forbid automation—check the game's terms of service first.

Do I need to install it?

No. Unzip the folder and run the executable. To remove it, delete the folder.

Does it run on Windows 11?

Yes, on both Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. Behaviour is identical on both.

Is it safe?

Yes. It only sends standard keyboard events—the same kind a physical keyboard would send. No file hooks, no process readers, no background services left behind.
